Testing Information

ACT

ESHS is a testing site for national ACT test dates in September, October, December, February, and April. Pre-registration and a fee are required. Four fee waivers are available to juniors and seniors who qualify for the free/reduced lunch program or meet other income eligibility criteria. Advanced Placement (AP)

Advanced Placement testing is an option to students enrolled in ESHS AP courses. Student scores could result in college credit or advanced standing in the college admission process. Visit www.collegeboard.org for more information.

ASVAB

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is an optional test available to juniors and seniors. This test assesses aptitude for various career skills and is required for enlisting in the military. Visit official-asvab.com for more information.

End-Of-Course Exam (EOC)

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requires End-of-Course examinations for specific subject area tests. ESHS tests in the following courses: English I, English II, Algebra I, Geometry (If Algebra I taken in 8th grade), Biology, American Government, MWSU American National Government. EOCEs may account for 10% of a student’s semester grade. Visit http://dese.mo.gov for more information.

PreACT

ESHS proctors the PreACT for 9th and 10th graders to provide an early experience with ACT test items. This assessment provides a predicted ACT test score, and offers a wealth of information to help students get the start they need to be college ready.

PSAT

Preliminary to the SAT, the PSAT is available to juniors and select sophomores in October. It is an optional assessment and is the first step toward qualifying for the National Merit Scholarship program. Sign up and fee are required. Visit www.collegeboard.com for more information.

SAT

The SAT is a college admission test. This test is offered at testing sites in the Kansas City area. Pre-registration and a fee are required. Visit http://sat.collegeboard.org for more information.

WorkKeys

The ACT WorkKeys Assessments measure foundational skills required for success in the workplace and help measure the workplace skills that can affect job performance. ESHS administers the Applied Math, Graphic Literacy and Workplace Documents WorkKeys Assessments. Scoring well (3 or higher on all three tests) gives students a National Workplace Readiness Certificate at either the Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze level.

School-Wide Test Day

ESHS will offer a school-wide test day, providing students in each grade level an opportunity to take a standardized test for free according to their grade level. Tests offered will include the PreACT 8/9, PreACT, ACT, ASVAB, & WorkKeys. The school-wide test day for the 2023-2024 school year is March 12, 2024.
