Counseling

The ESHS Counseling Program supports students by providing guidance curriculum, individual planning, responsive services, and overall community system support in the following areas:

Personal and Social Development

Counselors provide individual responsive services to assist students in addressing academic and/or personal concerns. The Counseling Program provides educational and preventive information to students to help facilitate healthy personal and social development.

Academic Development
The Counseling Program supports student academic development through individual planning, such as senior credit checks and student enrollment meetings. The development and annual review of student Individual Career and Academic Plans are facilitated through the Guidance and Counseling Program; this is an integral part of the planning process in a student’s academic career. Academic development is supported through various meetings and presentations throughout the year.

Career Development
The Counseling Program supports career development through various presentations such as college and career fair, a financial aid workshop, and other presentations throughout the year. Missouri Connections is utilized throughout the high school career to facilitate and enhance career exploration. Various Interest Inventories are utilized to assist in career exploration and college and career planning.
