The ESHS team of students Caroline Wenz, Katelin Mansell, Cameron Harris, and teacher Tony Harman competed on the first episode of season 8 of the Make48 television show! Make48 is an innovation competition where teams are given a real-world challenge to tackle in just 48 hours. The clock started at 11:30 on Friday, February 2nd, when the problem was announced - improving the Stadium Experience. By the time it hit zero an intense 48 hours later, the team, with help from tool techs and mentors, had developed and prototyped a solution, recorded a commercial, created a sales sheet, and prepared a five-minute pitch for their idea! All seven teams pitched their ideas, then the judges went to deliberate and after an endless wait, the winners were announced! While the team from Willow Springs, MO took first place, the ESHS team was honored to receive the DeBruce Foundation Agilities Award for most effectively using their individual strengths throughout the competition!
According to Mr. Harman, “Watching these three students work together and grow was absolutely amazing. They stepped out of their comfort zone, worked nonstop, and together we created something we are incredibly proud of. Every moment of this experience has been unforgettable!”
This competition will be shown in the first two episodes of season of Make48 when they air this fall.
